On Monday, a Lyon County grand jury indicted Arthur A. Long, of Chicago, Ill., on the charges of murder and theft by unlawful taking over $500 or more but under $10,000.
Long was arrested after Kentucky State Police began investigating the death of Nancy Minor of Eddyville. On Nov. 30, 2016, at around 3:50 p.m., the Eddyville Police Department and the Lyon County Sheriff's Office responded to Minor's address on Woodrow Street for a welfare check. During the welfare check units discovered Minor. She was unresponsive.
Minor's vehicle, a silver 2007 Chevrolet Malibu, was missing from the scene. Investigators believed Long -- Minor's brother -- might be in possession of the vehicle.
Kentucky State Police were contacted by Tennessee Highway Patrol in the early morning hours Dec. 5 with notification that Long had been arrested in Cookeville, Tenn. He was driving Minor's Malibu at the time.
Long is still incarcerated in Cookeville, Tenn., in reference to crimes committed in Tennessee.
