Mary A. Dodge, 99

Mary A. Dodge, age 99, of Kuttawa, formerly of Liberty, Mo., passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 at Christian Care Center in Kuttawa.

She was born on January 15, 1917 in Woodward, Oklahoma. She is predeceased by her parents, Guy and Grace Brown Compton of Kansas City, Mo., and her husband of 63 years, Frank Dodge.

Mother was a homemaker who loved her Lord, family, and her church, Macedonia Baptist Church in Kuttawa, and her first home church in Liberty, Mo., Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She loved life and people and had such a positive attitue. She loved to paint as did her mother and brought much happiness.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Calhoun and son-in-law, Terry Calhoun of Kuttawa; her son, John Good and daughter-in-law, Ruth Good of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandsons, Joshua Woods and wife, Jennifer Woods and Zachary Woods of Kansas City, Mo.; and one great-grandson, Gavin Parker Woods of Kansas City.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the loving care and special attention given to her at Christian Care Center in Kuttawa.

A special thanks goes to her dear friend, Maria Matchen, who cared for her while living alone in Eddyville...she loved her so.

Thank you all for the sweet prayers that were lifted up in her last days.

Doris Oliver Hardin, 93

Doris Oliver Hardin, 93, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Baptist East Hospital.

She was born September 10, 1923 to I.L. Oliver, Sr. and Hattie Gresham Oliver.

Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Martha O. Keeling, Mildred O. Warren, Louise Oliver; and brother, I. L. (Junior) Oliver, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Henry T. Hardin, III; grandchildren, Shannon H. Dye (Matt) and Henry T. Hardin, IV; great-grandchildren, Luke Edward Dye and Juliana Lourdes Dye; sister, JoAnn Oliver; nieces, Martha Alice DeAngelis (Randy), Janice Kaye Myers (David), Paul O. Warren (Jill).

Doris chose cremation and a private burial.

Wanda Joyce Tidwell, 80

Services for Wanda Joyce Tidwell, 80, of Grand Rivers, formerly of Between the Rivers, were held Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Dunn's Funeral Home in Eddyville with the Rev. Ed Clement officiating. Burial followed in Smith Cemetery Between the Rivers.

Mrs. Tidwell died Saturday, Nov. 12, at Continue Care of Paducah in Baptist Health Paducah. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Board in Grand Rivers, and the Assembly of God Church in Eddyville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Toy and Cora Elizabeth Creek Whitfield.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Duff; her second husband, Boyd Tidwell; a son, Jimmy Lynn Duff; a brother, James Whitfield; a sister, Helen Poe and a grandson, Timothy Brindley.

Survivors are: three daughters, Pam Brindley of Marion, June Hall of Union City, Tenn., and Beth Russell of Wickliffe; three sons, Wayne Duff of Eddyville, and Mark Duff and Matt Duff, both of Gilbertsville; a brother, Russell Whitfield of Evansville, Ind.; a sister, Shirley Lacey of St. Charles; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchilden.

Memorials may be made to the Assembly of God Church in Eddyville.

Luby M. Williamson, 82

Services for Luby M. Williamson, 82, of Richmond, Ind., and formerly of Eddyville, were Monday, Nov. 14, at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Richmond, Ind., with the Rev. Kevin Morris officiating. Burial followed at Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville, Ind.

Mr. Williamson died Nov. 3, at his home. He retired as the branch manager of American Security Finance and formerly worked as a loan office for Harrington Bank. He was an Army veteran, a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, and the Richmond Council No. 580 Knights of Columbus.

His parents were Minus and Leona Gray Williamson.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia, his second wife, Phyllis, and a sister, Margaret Von Arx.

Survivors are: a daughter, Lee Ann Huffine of Richmond; a son, Mark Williamson of Kansas City, Mo.; two step children, Micci Wampler and Rich Townsend six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; a sister, Mary Frances” Dolly” (Williamson) Travis-Gresham of Paducah; a brother, Jerry Williamson of Alaska; and several nieces and nephews.

Paul V. Hollingsworth, 77

Paul V. Hollingsworth, 77, of Eddyville, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, at his home in Eddyville.

Mr. and Mrs. Hollingsworth moved to Lyon County in 1970 with Shawnee Plastics plant in Kuttawa to set up the masking department, moved to the hot stamping department and the tool and die department and worked there until the plant closing doing estimating work.

His parents were Audrey and Francis Carter Hollingsworth.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Survivors are: his wife, Brenda Myers Hollingsworth of Eddyville; a son, Lewis Edward Hollingsworth of Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Martha Hollingsworth of Richmond; a brother, James Hollingsworth of Jacksonville, Mo.; a sister, Faye Sketchly of Cameroon Park, Calif.; three grandchildren; a great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation or service.
